Your ticket includes round trip transport from Cairns to Kuranda, with a ride on the Skyrail Cable Car one way and a ride on the Kuranda Scenic Railway the other way. These modes of transport are a highlight of your trip to Kuranda, as you get stunning panoramic views of the lush hills, forests, and waterfalls.

- Pick ups are not available from Northern Beaches and Port Douglas. Only Cairns City accommodations.
- Transfers not available from private residences (including Airbnb properties) – guests will need to meet at Skyrail Smithfield Terminal, or make their own way to another pickup location.
- Itinerary may operate in reverse.

FAQs
Will this tour still go ahead if it's raining?
In most cases, yes it will! this is the wet tropics and prone to rainy days, especially during wet season. Just make sure to bring a rain jacket or umbrella. In extreme wet weather conditions, the Train may be cancelled, but don't worry, Tropic Wings will ensure you make it home with a substitute coach transfer back from Kuranda.
What time does the tour start and finish?
Pick ups usually start from around 8:00am and the exact timing can vary depending on where you are staying. Drop off back to your accommodation is around 5:30-6:00pm.
Are meals included in this tour?
No they are not. Meals are at your own expense. This is to provide a budget-friendly Kuranda experience and so you can choose your preference. There are plenty of cute cafes and resturaunts in Kuranda Village to grab lunch or a snack.
Can I upgrade my ticket to Kuranda Railway Gold Class and Skyrail Diamond View?
Providing there is still space available, you can certainly upgrade. It is quite popular, so it is recommended to book in advance.
Are coach transfers available for pick up from my accommodation?
Return coach transfers are available from hotel/hostel accommodations within Cairns City. Transfers are not available from private accommodations or AirBnB properties. You would need to make your way to the nearest pick up location or meet at the Smithfield Skyrail Terminal.
Do we have a tour guide the whole day on this trip?
You will be picked up by a local driver guide who will transport you to the Skyrail in Smithfield. From there, simple show your ticket to the Skyrail staff, who will help you board the gondola. Once you arrive to the top of the range in Kuranda Village, you can are free to explore as you wish depending on what you would like to see an do. Just make sure you are at the Kuranda railway station at the time on your train ticket to return back to Cairns. Once you arrive at Freshwater ralway station, your driver guide will be there waiting to take you back to your accommodation.

So good! I loved the Skyrail so much -- absolutely incredible views, and I just found it so peaceful up there. Kuranda was amazing as well. Absolutely gorgeous markets and such delicious food stalls. The locals are all just so sweet as well. What a beautiful day.

Took my parents to Kuranda to see the rainforest and markets and they loved it. The scenic rail is right up their alley and we found some nice souvenirs in the market.

Myself and my wife had a lovely time in Kuranda. We bought some really nice sourdough at the markets and walked down along the river to see the rainforest, the gondola was a delight.
